Our intern, Brett Brockmeyer, would not allow us to get out of the 2007 Vintage without making a Rose'. We finally found a day when we had enough time to pick it, and we decided on a 85% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay varietal breakdown, sourced from throughout the vineyard.<BR><BR>We made the wine as a true rose': cold grapes right into the press and juiced immediately with zero skin contact. The wine is a pinkish peach color, with a delightful, vibrant nose like strawberry bubblegum. With only 11.8% alcohol and as much acidity as a sparkling wine, this is a great apertif or a great summer sipper.<BR><BR>The wine decided to undergo a slight secondary bottle ferment--the bottles range from still to quite petulant--and as a result some have a tiny bit of haze from the never-say-die yeast. Still, the wine is beautiful and delicious, and we think it's a great bargain at around $20.<BR><BR>As I've said many times, if I meant to put bubbles in this wine it would have been $50.</P>
